Spatio-temporal chaos and patterns

Pattern formation and spatio-temporal chaos in nonequilibrium media have been investigated.

New models of spatio-temporal chaos were constructed in which nonlinear fields are represented as an ensemble of interacting topological defects arising in regular lattices, vortex waves propagating in zonal flows, and spiral waves in isotropic dissipative media.
